Selection Tables - HSM Series Motors

  • The separate tables below list single-speed or multiple-speed models.
  • The models listed do not include drive shafts. Contact the Dynex sales department for shaft availability. The customer supplied shaft design must provide for retention of grease as the spline is not lubricated by system fluid.
  • Models with optional warm-up ports can benefit mobile equipment used in cold weather. Circulating fluid through the motor without rotor rotation can equalize fluid and motor temperatures, preventing thermal shock for dependable cold-weather operation.
  • Contact the Dynex sales department for options, complete installation and operating instructions, and a review of your application.

Single-Speed Models
In single-speed models, fluid entering a single port in one motor cover causes the rotor and spline-connected shaft to turn. Supplying flow to the port on the other cover reverses the direction of shaft rotation. Refer to "HSM Operation" for a complete description of motor function.

Multiple-Speed Models
In two-speed models, fluid is supplied to ports in a two-port cover (Port A and Port B). Each port is independently connected to a separate set of diametrically opposed and balanced ramps or "lobes" formed by the cam ring contours. These models provide either full torque at one speed or double the speed with half the torque.

Three-speed models can be identified in the table by unequal "torque splits" for each port, resulting from cam ring "lobes" with unequal displacements. These models provide three speed/torque combinations determined by which ports are supplied with fluid. Refer to "HSM Operation" for a complete description of motor function, including a typical circuit to select speed and shaft rotation.
