Custom Hydraulic Power Unit Applications

Dynex has over 40 years experience building power units ranging from small portable power packs to large custom systems. These specialized units operate at pressures to 15 000 psi (1000 bar) and flows to 200 gpm (757 L/min).

High Pressure Pump/Motor Sets Reduce Costs on Lube System

Hydraulic pump/motor units, operating at pressures to 12 500 psi (875 bar), supply the lube systems in the finishing stands in a hot strip mill. The Dynex PF4000 Series piston pumps include adjustable high pressure relief valves integrally mounted to the rear of the pump barrel. In steel mill applications, Dynex checkball pumps offer the performance and reliability of a triplex pump at about half the cost. They are ideal for the harsh mill environment because of their exceptional tolerance to contamination and high temperatures.

Hydraulic Power Unit Tests Aircraft Components with Military Fluids

Proprietary aircraft components are tested with MIL-H-83282 fluid using a hydraulic power unit with a Dynex checkball piston pump. The PF4000 Series pump on the system has a fixed and adjustable high pressure relief valve integrally mounted to the pump cover. The power unit delivers 7.5 U.S. gpm (28,4 L/min) at 6000 psi (420 bar). The reservoir, tubing and fittings are stainless steel with stainless o-ring face/braze ring fittings.

10 000 psi (700 bar) Power Unit Used for Testing With Military Fluid

Hydraulic power units operating at 10 000 psi (700 bar) are used to test aircraft plugs and orifices. A Dynex PF6023 checkball piston pump, driven by a 100 HP electric motor, delivers 13 gpm (49,2 L/min). Checkball pumps are ideal for this testing, which uses synthetic, fire-resistant, low viscosity MIL-H-83282 aircraft hydraulic fluid. A supercharging circuit provides cool, filtered fluid at positive pressure to the pump. The outlet is filtered and uses high pressure coned and threaded (Autoclave/Butech) fittings.

Compact and Quiet Power Unit Used for Rockwell Hardness Testing

A hydraulic power unit used on a Rockwell Hardness "C" press is compact and quiet (approximately 70 DbA). The unit delivers 1.0 U.S. gpm (3,8 L/min) at 1500 psi (100 bar). A Dynex directional control valve is subplate mounted with a flow control sandwich valve. This assembly, as shown, is then mounted inside the base of the "C" press to insure even quieter operation.

Unit with Spit-Flow® Pump Efficiently Tests Automotive Servovalves

Hydraulic power units are used in the automotive industry for simultaneously testing four servovalves. This unit utilizes a Baldor vector-drive motor to control system speed and drive logic, allowing easy selection of testing speeds. The drive is coupled to a Dynex four-way Split-Flow® checkball piston pump. The four piston pump has four isolated ports, each supplying one-piston output for testing.

Lab Quality Hydraulic Life Tester is Compact, Efficient and Quiet

A Dynex hydraulic power unit was designed to meet the customer's need for a compact and high efficiency material life tester. This power unit operates at approximately 65 to 70 DbA meeting the requirement to be ultra quiet for test lab use. The unit delivers 0.9 U.S. gpm (3,4 L/min) at 1500 psi (100 bar). Customer supplied electronic logic circuitry and motor starter were incorporated into the assembly.

Power Unit Controls Steam Valve for Electric Power Co-generation

A hydraulic power unit is used in an electric power co-generation unit that produces steam for the customer's manufacturing process. When not required, steam is diverted via a steam valve to drive a turbine which generates electric power. This electricity is then sold back to the local utility. The power unit that moves the steam valve delivers 18 U.S. gpm (68 L/min) at 2000 psi (140 bar). It uses a pressure compensated pump and Dynex D08 directional valves. It has a stainless steel reservoir and tubing, with explosion proof wiring.

Hi-Lo Circuit on Power Unit Responds to Changing Conditions

On rock crushing equipment, Dynex hydraulic power units provide long service life, even when subjected to extreme heat and dust, and long, tough duty cycles. The system's hi-lo power circuit efficiently supplies flow in response to changing flow and pressure requirements.
